Climate change puts children's most basic rights at risk, seriously affecting their access to health, food, water, clean air, education and protection. Around the world, the growing number of extreme weather events is putting more and more children's lives in danger. The response to climate justice and change will profoundly affect the quality of life of future generations of children, yet this intergenerational aspect has yet to be placed at the heart of climate change discussions. This briefing shows how a child rights approach to climate change would take the concerns of intergenerational justice into account and radically transform the policies and commitments of those in power.

Keeping this continuation of observing the child rights week today 5th October 2021 AAB has been organized awareness session, essay writing competition, drawing competition on “Climate change in the eyes of the child and the rights of the child” in Thanchi community. A total of 59 sponsored children were present at this observation.

Community leaders and public representatives participated in the discussion session, and they also assured the children that they would play a role in maintaining the balance of their mountainous environment.

The child Forum member named, U mong thowai (14) said, “Today I’m very happy to be here in the observation of child rights week. I participated in essay competition and got first prize. Before writing my essay, I have learned about the importance of climate justice and also know that we all are responsible to protect our environment. I expect this kind of observation of child rights week to be held in coming year-2022 and I will attend the program again".

The child Forum member named, Baiyong U (09) said, “I am so happy to be in the observation of child rights week on the date of 5 October 2021. I met many friends in the observation of child rights week at my community. I participated in the drawing competition and got first prize. This is why, I am very happy".
