During community visit, on 4th of March 2021, meeting was held with three Community Journalist Groups at LRP-50, Lalua-Champapur. Total 18 members attended the meeting with AAB team. The main purpose of this meeting was to inspire the members to write whatever they want to share.

Most of those 18 members had participated in Grassroot Journalism Training recently held at their community in December 2020 with the purpose of developing the journalism skill of our children, increasing participation in their own community development process meaningfully by sharing their thoughts & generating creative ideas through writings, enhancing our children’s capacity and knowledge for collecting and writing overall news items, publishing Community Newsletter once a year & preparing wall magazine twice a year for knowledge sharing.

They shared their learning with AAB team during visit. It has been showed that, this training was very fruitful as it inspired them a lot to write. Now they are more interested in journalism than before. Various problems of the community were highlighted in front of them during this visit. Through group discussion, they tried to find out the points they need to point out while writing news and they did it very nicely. Some of them were very active. They were so happy to be able to sit together and talk on different issues.

I just want to say you that I loved to write. But sometimes it happened that, I did not understand what to write. But now, I don’t think much. When I feel bad, I write, when I feel good, I write. It’s amazing to arrange my own thoughts with words. And now I try to be very conscious about the problems of our community as I have to solve those through my writings. I try to talk with other children whether they are facing any problems or not. I also tell them to write. I want to do something for the children by writing about their rights, problems. Thanks to ActionAid to inspire me in this regard. It really means a lot to me.”
