Rohingya refugees are reported to have been physically and mentally traumatized by the violence, including sexual and gender-based violence. ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) is specifically working to ensure the rights of women and children, and safeguarding them against the trauma of the crisis by building Women Friendly Spaces (WFS) and child-friendly corners as part of the WFS.

About 65 million people in the world today are refugees or forcibly displaced according to UNHCR. The reality is grave for a person seeking refuge in another country, who do not have any guarantee of coming back to their own land, which they use to call home once. Kutupalong in Bangladesh is the largest refugee camp in the world right now, sheltering over 800,000 displaced citizens of Myanmar, the majority of which are minors.

The implementation agreement of the project was made between IOM and ActionAid Bangladesh. The initiative aims to provide life-saving site management interventions for the Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar. Specifically, this project aims to provide site coordinator and site management activities in camps 11 and 12 and ensure the affected population has access to the required level of assistance and protection.

ActionAid Bangladesh has been working with the RMG workers for empowering them to claim their rights. The purpose of the project is to improve the working conditions of the workers. To reach its objective we seek to raise awareness on the Bangladesh Labour Law (BLL) 2006 among the workers as well as the management. The approach follows Peer educator techniques and the train the trainer methods to enable the RMG workers in order to create a bottom‐up pressure of rights enablement that eventually will contribute to the betterment of the working conditions as well as the gender friendly workplace. Another approach of our work is women’s café. This woman's café is a place where the women workers are gathered to receive the training on labour law as well as their rights. The workers also conduct meeting and have some game on their rights in this café.

Garment, leather and tannery industries have emerged as the biggest earner of foreign currency in Bangladesh which provided employment opportunities to both women and men (mostly women) from the rural areas who often face violations and exploitation in the workplace.

This is a primary health care clinic in association with the community based healthcare department of the Bangladesh government. The aim of the clinic in its initial pilot phase is to give primary care for general and reproductive health care at ChanPara relocation area, in Rupganj of Narayonganj. The clinic has already provided basic healthcare services to 60,000 people of the aforementioned area. It has also served as a role model in providing pre natal and post natal services and reducing infant mortality rates of surrounding areas. The clinic has been quite successful in reaching its goals between 2016 to 2018 and strives to be the best clinic in the area.

The project aims to raise awareness of the basic right of women and girls to live free from violence. It is also intended to enhance access to police and legal aid protection services that will empower survivors of VAWG to seek support and legal redress. Participation
