Reading in class 2, Khadiza is an 8 year old girl belongs to an underprivileged family. People from low income family like her face hurdles as their house could not protect them from the cold, as well as they have inadequate warm clothes.To protect children from severe cold, ActionAid distributed 50 blankets in 2014 among children who badly need them. Khadiza’s area gets chilling cold weather accompanied by dense fog in winter. But this year Khadiza shared her smile and said “Cold winter was also enjoyable this year with my new blanket”. Last winter she received a blanket from ActionAid that helped them a lot. She didn’t forget to thank her friend from Italy and the whole initiative from ActionAid for making winter warm for them.

The adversity of mountain could not prevent Unueshayang to pass her secondary school certificate examination

Unueshayang (17) thought her dreams got shattered when she could not sit for the secondary school certificate (SSC) examination in 2021 due to not having the preparation. Lack of guidance is the most common challenge that children living in hill tracts mostly suffer in completing education. Unueshayang’s father tried to give her daughter the best opportunity but could not arrange tuition for her. After knowing this, ActionAid extended mentoring support for Unueshayang and she finally appeared in the SSC exam 2022 where she successfully passed the examination.
