Associate Officer – Women Rights & Gender Equity

Salary and benefits           :                       Monthly Gross Salary BDT 45,998/, with other admissible benefits such as festival bonus, provident fund, gratuity, medical reimbursement, group life insurance etc as per HROD Policy.

Job Summary  

The objective of the position is to support Women Rights and Gender Equity team to maintain networking and linkage with other priorities, functions and relevant stakeholders in align with AAB’s Country Strategic Plan (CSP), International Strategic Plan (ISP) and Women’s Rights International Platform for establishing women’s rights in all AAB’s programmes. The general functions of the Associate Officer are - to support organising thematic workshops, seminars, day observations and capacity building trainings; support to develop and disseminate campaign materials, collect and compile data, case studies etc., for reporting and documentation.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to)

 Research, Report and Documentation

• Support in the study, research and sharing of the research findings at local and national levels.
• Support in reporting and documentation.
• Prepare, collect and compile change stories, best practices and lessons learnt for report writing.
• Support to preparing concept notes, position papers and blogs, Newsletters etc.
• Review and feedback are shared specially on research.

Campaign and Event Management

• Mobilize women and youth at the Local and National levels.
• Organize thematic workshop, seminar, day observation and capacity building training.
• Develop and disseminate campaign materials
• Carry on ‘online’ and ‘offline’ campaigns.

Resource Mobilization

• Assist team in thematic plans and budgets.
• Work intensively to address the donor’s requirements.

Maintain networking and linkage with other priorities, functions and relevant stakeholders

• Provide necessary assistance and coordinate with other SP’s to flag out Women Rights and Gender Equity (WRGE)based campaigns.
• Represent WRGE team, ActionAid among local and national networks, alliances and other stakeholders, as assigned by the Manager.

Relationships

 S/he will report to Manager – Women Rights & Gender Equity.

Required qualification and competencies

Education

• Graduate preferably major in Women & Gender Studies or any relevant discipline of Social Science.

Experience

At least 1 (one year working experience in the development field on women rights and gender programme.

Technical Skills 

• Understanding and experience in event management & relevant budget preparation.
• Good command of Bangla and English.
• Application Software: Microsoft Office Package.
