Aiming to uphold feminism and ensure collective leadership ActionAid Bangladesh initiated its Feminist leadership forum (FLF) on December 14, 2007 encouraged by ActionAid international. It is an open forum where all women colleagues within AAB have the space to share and discuss their professional as well as societal problems without fear or intimidation. Main objective of FLF is to motivate members in upholding their rights, supporting issues of women and building networks and forums nationally and internationally. This forum also has the freedom to design its activities according to the needs of the members.

Happy Homes offer the girls safe and loving shelter, link them up with mainstream education and build their capacity through different skill trainings so that the girls can survive independently when they graduate

The purpose of the study was to explore the status of Teacher Education Programme regarding inclusive education for children with disabilities in Bangladesh. The study shows, there are a few commendable initiatives taken by the Government in favour of inclusive education. However, a number of policy, practice and administrative challenges exist in the education system. Teacher education curriculum, teacher education institutions, the educators etc. require major reform for adequate promotion of inclusive education.

The training manual is expected to facilitate trainings targeted to enhance caregiving skills people require in meeting the therapeutic needs of children living with disabilities in Bangladesh. We hope the manual will be helpful for trainers, trainees and anyone working in the field of disability. The manual is in Bengali language at the moment.

This series presents learning on three development initiatives: Organic Advocacy, Resilience in Char (lands surrounded by river water and detached from the main land) and Women’s Collectives in empowering grassroots women. Organicity of a Grassroots advocacy initiative is the essence of the first learning document in this publication.

An overview of ActionAid Bangladesh’s activities and interventions of education programme in Bangladesh from 2012 to 2015.

This background paper compliments ActionAid’s internal position on youth and the Post-2015 development agenda. It provides case studies that showcase the approaches and roles young men and women can take in implementing and reporting on the targets and indicators of the Post-2015 development goals. This paper aims to strengthen the argument for why young people should be engaged in holding their governments to account on the delivery of the Post-2015 development agenda. It does this by providing ideas and approaches on how youth–driven participatory monitoring and tracking at community level can ensure the Post-2015 agenda is rooted in processes that actually empower communities.

Aware that life posits itself with an array of adversities, and armed with the inner strength, people living in poverty bring about change in their lives as an individual and as a group, and in the process encourage everyone. The inner strength, the will to survive creates something as powerful as hope. This photo-book named ‘People Power’ briefly captures that hope. In this photo-exploration, we have attempted to celebrate the contributions of the common people in Bangladesh towards developing a better world – a world that we believe is possible through realisation of the power in people. The publication marks the 30th anniversary of ActionAid in Bangladesh.
